Welcome to Darien YMCA's Virtual Y, YOUR own virtual portal to stay healthy and safe!
What is Virtual Y?
Virtual Y is our first-ever Virtual YMCA. This members-only experience for group fitness and wellbeing is filmed LIVE to stream anywhere. Virtual Y offers an ever-growing on-demand video library, and a schedule of Virtual Meetings from our YMCA expert instructors.
What classes are you offering on Virtual Y?
Virtual Y will offer a wide selection of fitness and wellbeing classes, including Strength, Open Level Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Slow and Gentle Yoga, Lite and Easy, Pilates, Rock Solid, Meditation. We're planning more program offerings on Virtual Y beyond Fitness and Wellbeing.
Who can access Virtual Y?
Virtual Y is for ALL Darien YMCA'S active members and team members. Virtual Y is included in membership at no additional charge – Another Reason Y.
How can I access Virtual Y?
Members will be able to complete workouts from their mobile phone, tablet, or laptop and even cast them to view on their large screen TVs at home. Visit Darien Virtual Y to login and then entering your member barcode. "Virtual Y" will replace the previously used "At Home workout Resources" tab on our website.
How can I find my barcode?
Members will be able to find their barcodes to access the Virtual Y website by reaching out to our member services.
Is Virtual Y a separate membership?
No. Virtual Y is a part of your Darien YMCA membership.
Is there a digital-only/Virtual Y-only Membership option at Darien YMCA?
No. Virtual Y is a part of our YMCA membership. As long as you're a member at Darien YMCA, you can access Virtual Y.
Will Virtual Y be expanding beyond its current online program offerings?
Yes. Darien YMCA is discovering new ways to bring the YMCA experience to your screens as we diversify our content and get more of what you love about the Y to you every day, whether you can make it to your Y location or you need to stay home.
Is there a trial available for Virtual Y?
No. There is currently no Virtual Trial available.
Can I cast Virtual Y live streams and on-demand videos to my TV?
Yes, you can! Click the small screen with an arrow icon to cast to any TV with casting options or any casting device like Apple TV, Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick, or Roku.
I'm using Internet Explorer. Why isn't Virtual Y working?
The video player that powers Virtual Y, YouTube, no longer supports Internet Explorer. Please use a different web browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox).
I saved a live stream to my favorites, and it disappeared; how do I get it back?
Live streams can only be viewed live and are automatically removed from your favorites dashboard after they air to keep your experience clean/streamlined, etc. Watch for the stream to be added to our on-demand library!
Where can I find a schedule of upcoming classes?
For Virtual Y members, you can view our upcoming classes inside Virtual Y by clicking the "View More" link at the top-right side of the Live Virtual Classes section.
