Youth Boxing Ages: 12 – 14 years  • Register Here

Put on your gloves and enjoy the Ys newest Youth Boxing class! Certified Boxing Instructor, Leigh Jeffers, will teach the basic techniques of boxing all while moving to the beat of music! Kids will learn the fundamentals of the sport of boxing with movements such as; stance, guard, jab, cross, hook, and more! These specific movements will be combined with cardio calisthenics, shadow boxing, partner drills, bag work, and core strengthening exercises. The benefits of this class will not only improve strength and endurance but also self-defense tools and self-confidence.

Teen Fit Certification • Ages: 13 – 17 years 

This training provides one personal training session to acquaint participants with the equipment in the Wellness Center. Upon completion of this training, teens will be qualified to use the Wellness Center on their own during the Teen Fitness Center Hours.

Youth Supervision Policy

Wellness Center: Minimum age is 13 years old, which constitutes a Student Fit membership. All Student Fit members must complete a Wellness Center youth Certification (free of charge) with one of our personal trainers before being allowed to use the Wellness Center.

Training Center: Minimum age is 15 years old. If the student is 15 years or older, they will be orientated with the Training Center during their initial youth certification.

Personal Training: Minimum age is 10 years old. This option is open to children of members and children who hold youth memberships. Non-member children are also permitted to personally train at an increased rate.

Group Fitness Classes: Minimum age is 15 years old.

Restrictions: During the hours of 5 – 8 pm on the weekdays, all students of the respective age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in either the Wellness Center or the Training Center.
